I Set Up a Nanny Cam and Saw My Boyfriend Doing THIS?!

My boyfriend, Mark, and I had been dating for three years, and we finally decided to take the plunge and move in together. I was so excited! I envisioned cozy nights in, cooking together, and just generally building a life together. The first few weeks were amazing. We spent our evenings decorating our new apartment, exploring the neighborhood, and just enjoying each other’s company. We were both working, so we’d get home, make dinner, watch some TV, and go to bed. It was domestic bliss. Then, things started getting weird. It started small. I couldn’t find my keys one morning when I was heading to work. I tore the apartment apart, retracing my steps, convinced I had just misplaced them. I was late for work but then, there they were sitting on the counter. I was so confused, I swear I looked there! I chalked it up to being scatterbrained and moved on. But then, other things started disappearing and reappearing. Important documents that I needed for work would vanish from my desk, causing me immense stress and wasted time searching for them. Then, the next day, they’d be right back where they were, as if they had never moved. At first, I thought I was just losing my mind, becoming forgetful and disorganized. Mark suggested I was working too hard and needed to take a break.

The strangest thing, though, was the food. I’m on a pretty strict diet, and I meal prep every Sunday to stay on track. I noticed that my carefully portioned containers were sometimes lighter than I remembered. I’d open the fridge, and a container that should have been full would be partially empty. Mark insisted he wasn’t eating my food and joked that maybe we had a food goblin living with us. I started getting really freaked out. Was I sleepwalking and eating my own food without realizing it?

I couldn’t shake the feeling that something wasn’t right. I started to suspect that Mark was eating my food, despite his denials, and hiding or moving my things as some kind of weird joke. I confronted him about it, but he looked genuinely hurt and offended. He swore he wouldn’t do anything like that and accused me of not trusting him. I felt terrible for doubting him, but I couldn’t explain the disappearing and reappearing items.

Finally, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I ordered a nanny cam online and set it up in our living room, disguised as a bookshelf. I positioned it so it would capture the area around my desk and the kitchen counter, hoping to catch whatever was going on. I told Mark I was working late at the office for a few nights, giving me an excuse to check the footage without him being around. That evening, I went to a friend’s house and waited impatiently, dying to see the video.

I logged in and rewound the footage to earlier that day, after I had left for work. I watched as Mark came into the living room, went directly to my desk, picked up my documents, and hid them behind a bookshelf. Then, he opened my fridge, ate half of my salad and put it back! I felt a wave of disbelief and anger wash over me. I rewound the video again, just to be sure I was seeing correctly. I was. My own boyfriend was gaslighting me and eating my food! I couldn’t believe it.
