Waitress SHAMES Grandma! I Got the PERFECT Revenge!

Last Wednesday should have been my grandparents’ 50th wedding anniversary. It was a milestone they both eagerly anticipated, a testament to their enduring love and commitment. They had planned a grand celebration, inviting family and friends to share in their joy. A lavish party was booked at their favorite restaurant, the same one where they had their first date decades ago. The invitations were sent, the menu was finalized, and anticipation hung in the air like a sweet perfume. But fate, as it often does, had other plans. Two years prior, my grandpa passed away unexpectedly, leaving a void in my grandma’s life that could never be filled. His absence was a constant ache, a reminder of the beautiful future they would no longer share. The upcoming anniversary only amplified her grief, a bittersweet reminder of what could have been. Despite the pain, she resolved to honor his memory and celebrate their love in her own way.

Instead of canceling the reservation, she decided to go to the restaurant alone. It was a symbolic gesture, a way to feel close to him and relive the memories they had created together. She knew it would be difficult, an emotional rollercoaster of joy and sorrow, but she was determined to persevere. As she walked through the restaurant doors, a wave of nostalgia washed over her. The familiar ambiance, the soft lighting, and the gentle murmur of conversations all evoked vivid memories of their shared experiences. She could almost see him sitting across from her, his eyes twinkling with love and laughter.

She ordered all their usual dishes, carefully selecting each item as if he were still there to share them with her. Each bite was a journey back in time, a reminder of the countless meals they had enjoyed together. As she savored the flavors, tears welled up in her eyes. She cried quietly into her napkins, trying to maintain her composure but unable to fully suppress the grief that overwhelmed her. After finishing her meal, she left a generous 20% tip, a gesture of gratitude for the restaurant staff and a silent tribute to her beloved husband. She felt some solace in being there, surrounded by memories of their life together, the kind of life where you thought you would never have to be **alone**.

But as she stood to leave, the waitress, Jessica, approached her with a hostile demeanor. Jessica, a young woman with a reputation for being abrasive and insensitive, had been observing my grandma throughout the evening. Perhaps she was irritated by the sight of an elderly woman dining alone, or maybe she was simply having a bad day. Whatever the reason, she chose to unleash her frustrations on my grieving grandma. “You seriously think this is enough?” she hissed, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “You sat here all night, alone, took up a whole table, and left a mess of napkins. Maybe if you weren’t so cheap, you wouldn’t be alone.” Her words were like daggers, piercing through my grandma’s already wounded heart. The cruelty of her remarks was staggering, especially considering the circumstances.

My grandma, already emotionally vulnerable, was deeply hurt by Jessica’s words. She didn’t even argue or defend herself. Overcome with sadness and humiliation, she simply emptied her wallet, adding a few more bills to the tip, and walked home in tears. The incident left her feeling even more isolated and alone, her grief compounded by the callousness of a stranger. When she told me what happened, I was shaking with fury. The thought of someone treating my grandma with such disrespect, especially during such a difficult time, filled me with rage. I could not believe she was attacked for being **alone** on the day that should have been her 50th anniversary with my grandpa.

I knew I had to do something. I refused to let Jessica’s behavior go unpunished. But I didn’t want to stoop to her level by engaging in a shouting match or writing a scathing review. Instead, I decided to orchestrate a more subtle and satisfying form of revenge. I made a reservation at the restaurant for Saturday night, specifically requesting Jessica as our server. I told them she had been “so wonderful” to my grandma, hoping to pique her interest and set the stage for my plan. On Saturday night, my friend and I arrived at the restaurant looking fancy and sophisticated. We ordered the most expensive wine on the menu, a selection of appetizers, and decadent desserts.

Throughout the evening, we made a point of showering Jessica with compliments and attention. We tipped her generously after every pour of wine and every dish she brought to our table. She was glowing with fake smiles and sugar-sweet compliments, completely oblivious to our true intentions. When the check finally arrived, I told Jessica, “You’ve been amazing. This is just a little thank you for your wonderful service.” I then pulled out a thick envelope and handed it to her. Her eyes lit up with anticipation. She assumed it was full of cash, a substantial reward for her perceived excellent service. But when she opened the envelope, her face went pale. Inside, there were no bills, no coins, just a collection of handwritten notes detailing the importance of compassion and empathy, along with a copy of my grandparent’s wedding photo. The shock on her face was priceless as she realized the extent of her mistake and the true meaning of our “generosity”. She then was informed that my grandma was the backbone of the community and Jessica was lucky that all she was getting was the photo. She was warned that if she said anything to anyone at the table (including my grandma) then she would be fired. I hope Jessica learned a valuable lesson that night, a lesson about treating others with kindness and respect, regardless of their circumstances. I’m sure she will never be so cruel to someone **alone** again.
