Ex-Husband did the most diabolical thing When I was in high school my friend and I made a pact that when we grow older and get married, we would name our first daughter the same name: “Serenity.” Fast forward a few years and we both got married, she had a daughter. I had a son. She named her daughter “Serenity,” as promised. I named my son “Sebastian,” to honour the “S” theme at least. I still had plans of having another child and so did she, hoping the second child would be a girl. As life would have it, my husband and I broke up so that high school promise was less likely to happen, but still a possibility.
While I was working on my life, ex-husband met a girl (he wasn’t even that serious about her, didn’t married to her or made any major commitments). Guess what? She got pregnant, had a girl and he name his daughter with her “SERENITY!!!” And he had the audacity to tell me about it, saying because we were suppose to have used the name, he went ahead and honoured our pact.
I did not make a name pact with him. I just shared the name just in case I had a girl. It was not his name to use, it’s not like it’s a common name.
My BFF and I came up with that name because we went to an all girls school and we always talked about how Serene it was sitting under the tamarind tree and have lunch every day, so we made up a few names until we settled on Serenity. I’m still so 😡 about it. I’m never telling anybody anything again ðŸ˜
